General notice
This statement describes the current accessibility status of kigs.so and our ongoing commitment to improvement. It is reviewed periodically. Last updated: May 2026.
Our commitment
KIGS Consulting is committed to ensuring that kigs.so is accessible to people with disabilities, including those using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification tools, or other assistive technologies. We believe that access to information about our work and services should not be contingent on the technology a visitor uses.
Standards we aim to meet
This Website is designed with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, aiming for conformance with Level AA. The WCAG guidelines are organised around four principles, requiring that content be:
Information and user interface components are presented in ways that users can perceive, not dependent on a single sense.
Interface components and navigation are operable by keyboard and assistive technologies, not just mouse or touch.
Information and the operation of the interface are clear, predictable, and avoid unnecessary complexity.
Content can be interpreted reliably by a wide range of assistive technologies, current and future.
Accessibility features of this site
The following features are implemented across kigs.so to support accessible use:
- —Semantic HTML structure: headings, landmarks, and lists are marked up correctly to support screen reader navigation.
- —Descriptive alt text: all meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images carry empty alt attributes.
- —Sufficient colour contrast: text and interface elements are designed to meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios against their backgrounds.
- —Keyboard navigation: all interactive elements, including navigation links, buttons, and form controls, are accessible via keyboard.
- —Responsive layout: pages adapt to a range of screen sizes and viewport widths, including mobile devices.
- —Clear link text: links are written to describe their destination or action, avoiding ambiguous labels such as 'click here'.
- —Font sizing: base font sizes are set in relative units, allowing users to adjust text size through their browser settings.
Known limitations
We are committed to continuous improvement, but acknowledge the following current limitations:
- —Older PDF documents linked from the Website, such as reports or terms of reference, may not meet full accessibility standards. We will improve these over time as resources permit.
- —Some complex data visualisations or tables may not be fully described for screen reader users. We are reviewing these elements.
- —Embedded third-party content (such as maps or forms from external providers) may have their own accessibility limitations beyond our direct control.
